The Venice Biennale, an international art exhibition, includes works sent by countries around the world. In 2005, Canada chose its 58th artist and first Aboriginal woman, Rebecca Belmore RCA. Belmore is known for her work in photography, installations, and video - almost always with an element of performance. Her new work, Fountain, was conceived for the Canada Pavilion at the Giardini in Venice.
