Ron Shuebrook RCA completed his term
as President of the Ontario College of Art and Design
June 30, 2005. Under Shuebrook’s leadership, OCAD
made significant advances, including obtaining degree-granting
status in 2002 and the opening of the critically-acclaimed
Sharp Centre for Design in 2004. Shuebrook was
awarded an honourary doctorate by OCAD, at its graduation
ceremony on May 26, in recognition of his long career
dedicated to art education.
Richard Reid RCA, awarded an Arts Champion
Award from the Assembly of BC Arts Councils in June 2005.
An annual award given to “individuals and organizations
who demonstrate outstanding leadership and have made significant
contributions to schools and communities through exceptional
support for arts and cultural programmes, initiatives
and collaborations”.
Claude Roussel RCA of Cap-Pelé,
NB was awarded the first Lieutenant Governor’s Prize
for his lifetime achievements in the arts, as announced
by the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick, the Honorable
Herménégilde Chiasson, on 4-12-05.
Gil Caldwell RCA, inducted into the
McMaster University Alumni Gallery for his long time contributions
to the visual arts field. Honoured at the induction ceremony
6/3-5/05.
